FRIO Water Co · Plano, Texas
Whole-home water filtration for Plano homes
Choose filtration for your city-water supply while keeping softening, kitchen RO and optional UV treatment distinct.
Different equipment does different work
A whole-home filter treats water as it enters the home. A softener addresses hardness minerals, and a kitchen RO unit serves a dedicated drinking-water tap. These are separate functions. Start with the water source and the specific issue you want to address instead of assuming one device solves everything.
Carbon filtration and city water
FRIO’s Two-tank package includes a separate catalytic carbon filter; the Compact package combines softening and filtering in one treatment tank. Carbon can address disinfectant-related taste and odor, but chlorine and chloramine performance depends on the actual media, flow and system design. Ask for documentation for the equipment in your quote rather than relying on a universal removal percentage.
Flow and space matter
We assess household demand, simultaneous water use, pipe size and installation space. The system must be selected for the expected flow, and there must be access for operation and maintenance. A larger tank is not automatically the correct choice. Tell us about existing treatment, pressure concerns and any planned changes to your home.
Packages and written scope
The $3,200 Compact home package and $4,750 Two-tank home package include standard professional installation for qualifying city-water homes. Kitchen RO is optional and quoted separately. Equipment sales tax, the 3% card-payment fee and nonstandard work are additional as applicable. The quote identifies equipment, scope and costs before you agree.
Optional UV treatment has its own requirements
The VIQUA ARROS15 is an optional upgrade at $1,250 plus equipment sales tax, with standard professional installation during the same home-system visit. It needs suitable power, space, water conditions, flow and regular maintenance. UV is a separate treatment step, not a substitute for hardness removal or filtration. Extra visits, wiring or other work are quoted separately.
Media replacement and service
Filter media does not last indefinitely. Replacement timing depends on the selected equipment, water conditions and use. Ask about media replacement, servicing access, recurring costs and warranty exclusions. FRIO is your starting point for service coordination, while the manufacturer and independent plumber have separate responsibilities.
Use water information without guessing
A utility report can help explain the local supply, but it does not measure your home’s plumbing or tap water. Unknown providers and private wells need different assessment; our listed packages are based on qualifying city-water homes. We do not apply city-water results to a private well or promise contaminant reductions without model-specific evidence.
