Water softeners sized for your Plano home
Understand hardness, household water use and installation requirements before choosing a softener.
When softening is the right job
Hard water contains minerals that can leave spots and scale on fixtures and surfaces. A softener addresses hardness. It is not a substitute for a drinking-water filter or proof that water is safe to drink. We start with your water source, hardness information and the problems you want to address.
Size is more than the number on the tank
We consider water hardness, household use, simultaneous demand, plumbing and available space. The advertised 32K and 64K sizes are equipment options, not guarantees that either size fits every home. Ask about an intermediate 48K option when appropriate. Your written quote identifies the selected equipment and capacity.
Compact and separate-tank options
The Compact home package uses one treatment tank for softening and filtration, plus a salt tank. The Two-tank package uses a separate softener and carbon filter, plus a salt tank. Separate tanks need more room and allow the two treatment functions to be specified separately. We assess the water and installation space before recommending a layout.
Current package prices and exclusions
The Compact home package is $3,200 and the Two-tank home package is $4,750. Standard professional installation is included for qualifying city-water homes. Sales tax is added to equipment; card payments add a 3% fee. Kitchen RO is optional and quoted separately. Extra work and larger equipment cost more and are listed in the quote. Existing written quotes and agreements remain unchanged.
What standard professional installation requires
We check accessible plumbing, a suitable drain, power, space, bypass arrangements and local requirements. Digging, new piping, drain work, wiring or backflow work can fall outside standard scope. FRIO supplies equipment and coordinates the work with an independent licensed Texas plumber. We do not book an installation on the assumption that every home is ready.
Salt, regeneration and care
A salt-based softener needs salt and regeneration. The regeneration settings and water use depend on the equipment and your household’s demand. Follow the selected model’s manual, keep access clear and ask us how to check salt levels and use the bypass. Salt, routine care and replacement parts cost extra unless your quote includes them.
Get a recommendation from your actual setup
Send photos of the water-heater area, close-ups of the pipes and the surrounding space, outlets and drains. Include your city, ZIP code, household size and any existing softener or loop. We may need further assessment if the photos cannot establish the scope. Our service area is within 50 miles of Plano.
